The German tour operator DER Touristik will begin flights to Samaná and Puerto Plata – on the country’s north coast – with CONDOR Airlines, while Anex Tour announced that it will begin to include the Dominican Republic in its regular vacation packages beginning in March 2017.
DER Touristik, the second largest tour operator in Germany, announced that beginning in November 2017 charter flights between Cologne, Germany to Samaná – on the country’s northeast region – will operate with Condor Airlines. Another flight will originate between Dusseldorf, Germany and Puerto Plata, the north coast’s most important city.
The flights to Samaná will use B-767 airplanes with capacity for 262 passengers. Passengers will be able to begin to book flights beginning March 15. The flight to Puerto Plata will be in airplanes with capacity for 268 passengers.
DER Touristik is the owner of the Cooee hotel Brand. The Cooee clubs in the D.R. are operating in the Grand Paradise Samaná and Grand Paradise Playa Dorada hotels. Both hotels are operated by Amhsa Marina Hotel & Resorts.
Anex Tour also announced that it will carry out three direct flights during the summer and five during the 2017-2018 winter season. The company operates its own airline, Azur Air, and has announced that it will begin flights beginning on April 2017 using Boeing 767-300 airplanes, with capacity for 330 passengers.
Anex Tour will fly into Punta Cana on Mondays and Wednesdays from Dusseldorf (DUS), and on Fridays from Berlín-Schönefeld.
The Dominican authorities have indicated that these flights will increase to eight percent the number of German tourists visiting the country, which last year numbered 259,000.
