The British airline recently announced that it will launch its third direct weekly flight from London’s Gatwick Airport to Punta Cana, beginning next March.
The airline announced that it will operate weekly flights between London and Punta Cana on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, offering passengers 48 seats in business class; 24 in economic superior class and 203 in economy class for a total of 275 seats. An additional fourth flight will be added between July and September, 2017.
Number of English Tourists Continue to Grow
During the first 10 months of 2016 the number of English tourists traveling to the D.R. jumped to 138,842, an increment of 19,500 passengers in comparison to the same period in 2015. In 2015, 77% of all British tourists entered the country through Punta Cana’s international airport and 21% through Puerto Plata’s international airport, on the country’s north coast.
