The Colonial City is the main attraction for cruises

The Ports of Sansouci and Don Diego of Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital, will receive 132 thousand 483 tourists of different nationalities during the cruise season that begins in November 2016 and concludes in April 2017.

Both ports are on the East and West banks of the Ozama River, the river that divides the city. The West side is next to the Colonial City, the main cultural-historical tourist attraction of the country. The eastern port is a 10-minute drive from the old part of Santo Domingo, whose colonial monuments date back to the 16th century.

In the historical part visitors can enjoy museums, temples, gift shops and other attractions. Cruise passengers can also take trips to beaches and other places of interest in the city or nearby places.
In the season, ten cruise lines will make 58 visits to both ports: AIDA, TUI, Carnival, Costa, Pullmantur, Crystal, Sea Cloud, Norwegian, MSC and SAGA.

AIDAluna, Aidamar, Mein Schiff 4 and Carnival Conquest, of the TUI and Carnival Lines, arrived in the city with 12,684 cruisers.

23,978 cruisers will arrive by the Port of Sansouci, in the ships Mein Schiff4, AIDAMAR, Costa Magica, Carnival Splendor, Zenith and Crystal Serenity.

The Costa Magica, Mein Schiff 4, Zenith, AIDAMAR, Sea Cloud 2, Carnival Conquets and Norwegain Jade cruises will touch the land of the Primate city of America with 33,862 tourists.

26,498 tourists are expected on the TUI, Pullmantur, AIDA and Costa Lines, on the Mein Schiff 4, Zenith, Aidamar and Costa Magica vessels.

In March 2017, 25,435 visitors will bring the ships Mein-Schiff 4, SAGA Sapphire, Zenith, Hamburg, Aidamar, Costa Magica and MSC Armonia.

Sea Cloud 2, Aidamar, Norwegian Jade and Mein Schiff 5, Sea Cloud, AIDA, Norwegian and TUI, will close the season with 10,026 tourists.
