The Dominican Republic Establishes Itself as a MICE Destination

The International Congress and Convention Association placed the Dominican Republic on the 11th slot of its 2015 list on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) Association for North and Latin America.

The report revealed that most of these international events were held in Punta Cana.

The Dominican Republic has surpassed Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica and Bahamas in this category.  The neighboring islands placed 16, 18, 20, and 22, respectively, in the abovementioned list.

In 2014 the Dominican Republic occupied the 14th slot on the list, jumping three slots in two years. This year Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital, came in on the 72md slot, but dropped to the 43rd position in the 2015 list.

55th Position 55 in the World

The Dominican Republic currently ranks 55th on the MICE list, next to Morocco and Vietnam, and surpassed by the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
