The Russian Rossiya Airline recently began direct charter flights between Punta Cana and Vnukovo Airport in Moscow.
At the same time, the Spanish airline Plus Ultra began regular flights between Madrid-Santo Domingo this past month of June.
French Blue will begin regular flights this coming September flights between Paris’ Orly Airport to Punta Cana.
The Russian airline announced that it will fly twice a week to Punta Cana, on Tuesdays and Fridays, until the end of the summer season which ends on October 25, 2016. The airline uses Boeing 747- 400 equipment.
The airline will contribute to increase the number of Russian tourists traveling to the country. Some 8,682 Russian tourists visited the country during the first semester of 2016, in comparison to 71,572 during 2015.
Madrid – Santo Domingo
The Spanish airline Plus Ultra also began regular flights between Madrid-Santo Domingo this past June. The introduction of this new airline to this important route, where Iberia and Air Europe also operate, will increase competition between the airlines.
Paris – Punta Cana
French Blue, the first French low-cost airline, will begin four weekly flights in September from the Paris/Orly Airport to Punta Cana, on an Airbus A330-300.
