New “Flavors of the World” Cuisine Festival in World-Famous Casa de Campo Resort

The Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, one of the Caribbean’s top exclusive resorts, will hold between May – November 2016 its “Flavors of the World” festival, which will consist of providing guests one weekend a month with special gastronomic activities.  Renowned international chefs will provide guests with a taste of the food and culture of multiple countries.  The event is coordinated by Casa de Campo Head Chef Anthony Masas.

The first scheduled event – May 20-22 – was headed by Michelin Star Chef Fernando Arellano, from Spain, and known for his contributions to the culinary tradition of Mallorca, Spain.

Between July 1-3, the Festival will be dedicated to the city of Miami, featuring Chef Jose Mendin, of the Pubbelly Group.  Special guests will include Chef Jeremy Ford, of the Room Matador by Jean-Georges, and Chef Bradley Kilgore.

Chefs Mendin, Ford and Kilgore are true super stars in the culinary industry. Mendin has been nominated five times for the James Beard Award in the Best Chef Category; Ford is a past winner of the television program Top Chef, and Kilgore received for the first time this year a nomination to this year’s James Beard Award.

Chef Mendin recently opened a Pubbelly Sushi Restaurant at the Marina in Casa de Campo.  The newly opened restaurant is an extension of his popular restaurants Pubbelly in Florida. Mendin and his guests will serve a family-style menu during that very special weekend.  Also, a special BBQ at Minitas Beach and will conclude with a spectacular Pubbelly Sushi brunch on Sunday.

The program will also include other guests to highlight the cuisine from Peru, Italy, Mexico and Portugal, among others.  The event is scheduled to conclude in November, with a special event that will bring together the chefs that participated during the length of the festival.
