This popular annual tourism fair will be held from October 5-7 in Puerto Plata, the country’s most important north coast tourism destination. The event, organized by the Tourism Cluster of Puerto Plata and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, will be held at the Iberostar Costa Dorada Hotel. The fair attracts dozens of tour operators, travel agents and national and international journalists who are working to strengthen trade relations and promoting Puerto Plata and the north coast of the Dominican Republic as a tourism destination.
Last year alone Puerto Plata’s international airport received 370,000 international tourists, registering a 2.3% over the previous year. During the first quarter of 2016, the number of visiting tourists registered at 158,000, for an impressive 9% jump over the same time period in 2015.
