The number of adults-only hotels in the Dominican Republic skyrocketed during 2015. Not only were new hotels built for this particular market segment, but well-known hotels already in operation added special adults-only sections to their facilities.
In total, an impressive 804 rooms were added in seven all-inclusive hotels in the country. In addition, local chains – such as Amhsa Marina and Viva Resorts – recently launched their particular brands of adult-only facilities, introducing the brands “V Collection” and “Hoteles Select,” respectively.
Other adults-only facilities are: Emotions, a new five-star luxury hotel in the beachfront community of Juan Dolio, situated 45 minutes east of Santo Domingo, which opened a special 75-room section for adult guests.
In Punta Cana, the Club Med resort also opened a special 78-room section.
In La Romana, on the country’s eastern region, the Dreams La Romana now features a 126-room adults-only club, while the Bahia Principe Samana, on the northeast region, has a brand new 109-room section for adult guests.
In addition, the Riu Hotels & Resorts chain recently began the construction of a new all-inclusive, adults-only beachfront hotel in Punta Cana. The new hotel is scheduled to open in the summer with 1,007 rooms. In the beachfront community of Boca Chica, 15 minutes east of the Las Americas International Airport, the Don Juan Beach Hotel is also working on a special adults-only section.
