The AM Resorts chain is scheduled to open on February 15, 2016 the Sunscape Puerto Plata in Playa Dorada, the north coast’s city most important tourism complex. The 585-room, all-inclusive hotel, is situated 10 minutes from downtown Puerto Plata and 25 minutes from the city’s modern international airport. The beachfront complex has been completely remodeled by the hotel chain.
To mark the opening event, the AM Resort is offering a super special package consisting of US$85 per person, per night, and two children completely free when accompanied by two adults.
The beachfront hotel has been completely renovated. Originally built by Occidental Hotels, it was later operated by the Barcelo Hotels & Resorts chain, which was later acquired by AM Resort last year. Sunscape is the company’s family-oriented brand. All rooms and facilities are organized to meet the needs of the family.
Sunscape Puerto Plata features the Sun Club, which offers its guests high-quality room décor and excellent guest services.
The hotel’s Explorer Club is designed for children ranging from 2-12 years of age, all professionally supervised. The Teens Club provides this particular group with many fun activities and events.
Restaurants and Bars
Sunscape Puerto Plata features nine restaurants (five a la carte), a barbecue grill, a café and a buffet restaurant. Restaurants are open 24/7 and all feature children-friendly menus. There are also eight bars in the hotel’s various areas, offering national and international drinks.
The hotel offers guests a host of sports activities, including non-motorized water sports, tennis courts and golf course access to the Playa Dorada complex. There is also a spa and a fitness center.
The Sunscape Puerto Plata hotel also provides additional services, such as wedding planners, honeymoon packages, tours and various shops.
