Dominican Tourism Fair Scheduled for April 2016

The Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2016, the country’s most important tourism trade fair, will be held at the Paradisus Palma Real hotel’s Convention Center, occupying an 18,000 square foot area, from April 19-21.

Representatives from national and international hotel chains, as well as tourism service-oriented companies, annually attend the event.

DATE is organized by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES), and is co-sponsored by the country’s Ministry of Tourism.

The Paradisus Palma Real Resort is situated in Bavaro, Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region. Its convention center is situated within the Melia Hotels International complex, which also includes the Melia Caribe Tropical Hotel.

The Convention Center, along with the two hotels, occupies a total of 63,000 square feet of overall space distributed in 31 rooms and halls.

Its facilities include WI-FI service; multifunctional and multipurpose rooms; secretarial services, hostesses and technical assistance (the service must be requested previously, and there is an extra charge); a Business Center; electronic and audiovisual facilities; food and beverage services, and recording of all events.

The resort also has a partnership with the American Audio Visual Center (AAVC), the Caribbean Audiovisual Center (CAVC) and the Blue Avenue Studies, to provide its guests with excellent audiovisual and creative technology.

AAVC specializes in the use of 3D technology, various levels of video mapping, wireless technology and immersion technology.
