The Catalonia Hotels & Resorts chain of hotels recently signed an agreement to manage, beginning January 2016 and for the next 15 years, the Hilton Santo Domingo Hotel.
The 228-room facility is a member of the Hilton Worldwide Company, and features 1,100 square meters of meeting rooms and other social events facilities.
The hotel, which is now part of Hilton Worldwide, is one of the country’s most important urban hotels.
The 228-room hotel is well known for its convention center and banquet halls.
With this agreement, the prestigious Spanish chain of hotels will manage its first city hotel in the Caribbean where it currently operates 2,700 rooms.
According to an official press release issued by the hotel chain the 21-story hotel, including an executive floor, also includes a parking lot for 400 vehicles, a casino, restaurant, three bars with seafront views and an outdoor pool.
“The building owners will contribute US$3 million for the overall refurbishing of the facility, and bringing the hotel to the quality and operational standards of the Catalonia chain,” explained the press release.
