The Dominican Republic’s Golf Travel Exchange international fair will take place from September 5-10.
The event will open in Casa de Campo, home to one of the world’s most important golf courses and will close at “The Level by Melia,” in Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region. Casa de Campo, one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious resorts, will host one of the fair’s key golf tournaments.
Fair organizers revealed that aside from the Dye Fore Golf Tournament, in Casa de Campo, other tournaments have been scheduled at the “Cocotal Golf Course” and the “Punta Espada Golf Course,” both situated in Punta Cana, one of the Caribbean’s most important tourism destinations.
The goal of the Dominican Republic’s Golf Travel Exchange is to market and promote the Dominican Republic as one of the top golf destinations in the Caribbean region.
Fair participants will include national and international tour operators and travel agents who specialize in this specific tourism segment. The event will be covered by journalists from all over the world who specialize in golf tourism.
The program schedule will include workshops with representatives from country’s 23 golf courses, tour operators, hoteliers and travel agents.
Also scheduled is a seminar on the future of the golf industry, with participants from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), an organization that brings together the most important international golf operators in the world.
Also, representatives from PGA Magazine, the world’s most prestigious golf publication, representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, and the Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf), among others.
The DR Golf Travel Exchange is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) and the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).
