Hotels in the mountains that surround the town of Jarabacoa, situated in the country’s central mountain chain, are becoming popular destinations for national and international tourists.
“Rancho Las Guazaras,” “Rancho Baiguate,” and the Jarabacoa Mountain Hotel are three of the most popular hotels in this popular ecotourism destination, mainly because of their beautiful facilities and excellent customer service.
The town of Jarabacoa is the gateway for visitors to the Duarte Peak, the tallest in the Caribbean.
According to TripAdvisor, the popular online travel website, these hotels were issued Certificates of Excellence 2015 because of the high scores issued by visitors.
All facilities received 4.5 scores out of 5 from website users.
“Rancho Las Guazaras”
For a second year in a row the “Ranch” received a Certificate of Excellence for excellent customer service.
The five-villa ecotourism facility, situated 10 minutes from downtown Jarabacoa, features a children’s play area, camping grounds, a BBQ area, an activity room, six swimming pools, an outdoor terrace, two gazebos and beautiful gardens.

The four-room facility is situated 15 minutes walking distance from downtown Jarabacoa, and is currently being expanded to add an additional 11 rooms.
The “Rancho” recently received its second consecutive Certificate of Excellence. The 27-room facility features a bar, restaurant, swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, and an art gallery. The hotel also coordinates rafting excursions in the nearby “Yaque del Norte” River, the longest in the Caribbean.
Jarabacoa, also known as the City of Eternal Spring, has a population of about 30,000.
Average annual temperatures in this basically agricultural and ecotourism destination is 22 degrees Celsius.
The town is the gateway to Duarte Peak, the highest in the Caribbean, situated 3,175 meters above sea level. The Peak is a haven for hikers and ecotourism enthusiasts.
