The tournament will take place at the Cap Cana Marina, September 10-13. Representatives from 10 countries have confirmed their participation.
The competition is one of the activities scheduled for the 2015 fishing season.
The following countries have confirmed their participation in the annual event, hosted by the Dominican Republic: the United States, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Aruba, Australia and France.
Winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, local tour certificates, free passes to golfing facilities, hotel accommodations and free nights in the marina.
Each participating boat is entitled to a seven-member crew.
Event organizers explained that all participating fishermen must report their daily catch at 6:30 p.m. at the yacht club. A delicious barbecue, with live music and open bar, will be waiting for them once they report their catch.
The Cap Cana Classic tournament will also include a “Night at the Dock” party, where the winners will be announced during the closing ceremony.
