The Amhsa Marina Hotels & Resorts recently announced the construction of a 140-room all-inclusive hotel in Las Galeras Beach, on the country’s scenic northeast region. The US$20 million facility will be built in Samana Province. Amhsa Marina will also invest US$5 million to refurbish the Casa Marina Beach & Reef Hotel in Sosua, situated outside Puerto Plata, the north coast’s most important city.
Luis Lopez, president of the hotel chain made the announcement during the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2015), held from April 28-30 at the Barcelo Bavaro Convention Center, in the country’s eastern region.
Lopez said the new hotel will be only for adults and that guests will have access to all the facilities of the nearby Grand Paradise Samana Hotel, which is also operated by the Amhsa Marina chain.
Remodeling in Sosua
The hotel chain also announced a US$5 million investment in the reconstruction and redecoration of the Casa Marina Beach & Reef in Sosua, Puerto Plata, on the country’s north coast.
Lopez explained that some of the improvements to the Casa Marina Beach & Reef Hotel include the construction of a Lobby Bar and a shopping plaza, as well as major improvements in the hotel’s restaurants.”
