The Dominican Republic will host the Second Hospitality Caribbean Conference, scheduled from May 4-8 at the Serrania Technical Hotel School, situated in the mountain-region destination of Jarabacoa.
Students from top hotel training schools from Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic are scheduled to participate.
The central theme of this year’s event will be “The Power of Service: Empathy and Team Work.” Participants will present theme-related subject papers on May 5, at the Hodelpa Garden Court Hotel in Santiago, the country’s second largest city. Hodelpa president Edmundo Aja will be the keynote speaker. Dozens of professionals and guests representing the hospitality industry are expected to participate.
A Gastronomic and Cultural Fair is scheduled at the Serrania School in Jarabacoa on May 6.
Participants will present dishes from the participating countries. Dominican chef Rosa Gomez (The Chefa) will present some of the Dominican Republic’s most popular dishes.
The first Hospitality Caribbean event was held in Panama City in 2014.
