“Centro Leon” Cultural Center among the best in the Caribbean

For a second consecutive year the Centro Leon, situated in Santiago – the Dominican Republic’s second largest city – was placed on the list of the most valued Caribbean cultural centers.

The Center is currently the most valued private cultural institution in the country, featuring permanent and temporary exhibitions as well as many other cultural events.

The selection was made by readers of the popular TripAdvisor travel website, who determined that this cultural institution came in second among the fifteen best cultural attraction in the Caribbean.

The Center received the prestigious Travellers’ Choice Award 2014, issued by TripAdvisor.

Other 2014 awards were issued to other Santiago attractions: La Aurora cigar factory; the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration; Zemi Cigar Factory; Santiago Cathedral; Cinema Palace; “Las Tres Reinas” Cigar Store; Private Tours; Dream Casino; Shooting Range; Las Colinas Mall; Kaskada Park; “El Romin” Museum Bar; Hangover Rock Bar and Tigua Air Tours.

In 2013 the Centro Leon ranked fourth in the list of the ten best rated Caribbean museums, according to the Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The winners of this important annual award are chosen by the readers of the TripAdvisor travel website, the world’s most important tourism website.
