Puntacana Resort Names Tennis Center in Honor of Famed Dominican-American Designer Oscar de la Renta

The Puntacana Resort & Club recently opened the Oscar de la Renta Tennis Center, in honor of the famed fashion designer and one of the resort’s most important investors.

Present during the opening ceremony were members of the de la Renta family and Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue magazine, a great friend of the famous designer.

Ms. Wintour had the honor of unveiling the plaque with his name in center court.

In remarks delivered during the event Anna Wintour said that Oscar de la Renta was an avid tennis fan and cared deeply for the “boleritos,” a small group of children and adolescents from low-income households, aged 9-17 years, who receive training in the center.

She explained that she was honored to be able to continue the work he carried out at the center.
