The Dominican Republic will host the Caribbean Horse Racing Fair 2015, and the event will be held at the “V Centenario” race track, situated outside the capital city and 15 minutes from Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport.
The Caribbean Horse Racing Federation voted to hold the event in Santo Domingo during their last convention in Venezuela. The event is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2015.
The goal of the Dominican authorities is to integrate horse racing activities to the country’s tourism industry.
Currently underway is the projected construction of a race track in Punta Cana, the country’s most important tourism destination.
