The Brazilian airline Gol recently added two new weekly flights from Brasilia and Belo Horizonte to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. The flight from Brasilia to Punta Cana will operate on Tuesdays, at noon, and flights from Belo Horizonte will take place same time but on Wednesdays.
Since early December the airline is offering five weekly direct flights between Brazil and Punta Cana, departing from Sao Paulo’s international airport.
Between January and November 2014, some 99,451 Brazilian tourists visited the Dominican Republic. Brazil is the second South American country with the largest number of tourists visiting the D.R., second only to Venezuela.
During 2013 more than 92,870 Brazilian tourists visited the country. In 2014 that number jumped by 16,253.
