The following hotels partially or completely refurbished their facilities this year: the Occidental Grand Punta Cana, Grand Paradise Samana, Sheraton Santo Domingo, Melia Caribe Tropical, Paradisus Palma Real and the Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana.
The Occidental Grand Punta Cana, during the second phase of its refurbishing process, opened the First Club Lounge, for a total investment of $1.4 million. It also opened a new Arena Beach Club, its new beach-bar concept for members and guests of the Occidental Vacation Club and the Royal Club.
The Paradisus Palma Real, in Punta Cana, remodeled its facilities at a cost of US$12 million, including the complete refurbishing of its Family Concierge concept, which includes; the modernization of the hotel’s exclusive and private 42-suite area, a Trattoria-style restaurant/bar and a new private beach area with exclusive facilities for children.
The Grand Paradise Samana, an all-inclusive 370-room facility, recently concluded the renovation process of important areas of the facility. Some five million dollars went into the renovation and decoration of rooms, including new furnishings and linens. The reception area was also completely redone, and a new terrace was built. The Sheraton Santo Domingo has invested over US$20 million in its reconstruction/remodeling phase. Situated in Santo Domingo’s beautiful seaside boulevard, the hotel now features the Sheraton brand.
The Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is a seaside boutique facility operated by AMResorts chain. Aside from refurbishing all rooms, the new construction phase added 45 new rooms to the facility. Its new restaurant, The Dugout,” features the best Latin American dishes.
The Melia Caribe Tropical, in Punta Cana, recently opened The Level, a new 312-room adults-only facility, including a private beach area and an exclusive swimming pool.
