“Las Galeras” Beach: One of the D.R.’s Best Kept Secrets

“Las Galeras” beach is situated in one of the Bay of Samana’s most remote communities. Situated on the country’s northeast region, the Samana Peninsula is by far one of the country’s best kept secrets.

Stretching from the Grand Paradise Samana beach to Rincon Beach, visitors will be treated to one of the Dominican Republic’s most spectacular views.

“Las Galeras” is a small and very beautiful quaint fishing village, situated some 25 miles from the city of Samana, on the country’s northeast region.

The “Il Pirata” Restaurant also offers fine Italian dishes. The restaurant is known for its homemade chocolate and olive-based pasta. Another special treat is the coconut, coffee and strawberry ice cream.

This restaurant is small and cozy, and visitors will feel right at home. It is decorated with Dominican and Haitian artifacts.

The restaurant owners are currently building a balcony from where visitors will be enjoy to enjoy a fine meal, but also marvel at the beautiful surrounding scenery.
