The Association recently elected tourism expert Simon Suarez as its new president, an important tourism expert with more than 40 years experience in the tourism sector.
Suarez is currently Vice President of the Punta Cana Group and, prior to this position, Mr. Suarez was head of development for Central America and the Caribbean for the Hilton Worldwide Corporation.
Years past he also occupied the position of president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism in the Caribbean, was president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism in the Caribbean, and Executive Vice President of Coral Hotels and Resorts, a Dominican-based hotel management and development company running four all-inclusive resorts, the Hilton Santo Domingo Hotel, and a golf resort.
In addition, he served as president of the “Union Hotelera Dominicana, S.A.,” an investment company with a varied portfolio, including the development of a four-star resort located on the country’s north coast.
Simon Suarez was also president of the Association of Caribbean Hotels and Tourism Association (CHTA), and director of the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (CAST).
