The restaurants “Passion by Martin Berasategui” at the Paradisus Palma Real Punta Cana Hotel and the “Mediterranean” Restaurant, at the Eden Roc at Cap Cana Hotel, were given “Four Diamond” status by the world-famous American Automobile Association (AAA) tourism guide.
Although both restaurants are situated in top-quality resorts in the country’s Punta Cana region, patrons not staying at these hotels are welcome as long as they make reservations.
Currently only 729 restaurants throughout the world are currently exhibiting “AAA Four Diamond” status. The Association conducts independent inspections in order to determine what tourism-related establishment will receive their coveted diamond categories.
“Passion by Martin Berasategui” Restaurant was included on the list of the world’s best restaurants published by Travelers’ Choice Restaurant Awards 2013.
The list is sponsored by the world-famous TripAdvisor website. It is also considered to be the best restaurant not only in the Dominican Republic but in the Caribbean as well.
The restaurant opened in 2011 as part of an alliance between the famous Spanish chef and the Melia International chain of hotels.
Today, Martin Berasategui is considered to be one of the best chefs in the world. The restaurant also features six Michelin stars, the highest distinction offered by world-renowned guide.
The restaurant has successfully designed, exclusively for Paradisus Resorts – the luxury brand of Meliá Hotels International in the Caribbean – a unique culinary experience that combines the best of international cuisine with local ingredients.
The Mediterraneo Gourmet Restaurant is run by renowned French chef Jerome Bondaz, who has made a name for himself in such places as Spain, Monaco, Switzerland and France.
