Procigar Festival 2015 registration underway

The Procigar Festival organizers recently announced that registration for the 2015 event is now underway.

Each year the festival brings together representatives from the national and international communities, as well as cigar lovers from all over the world.

The festival will take place at Casa de Campo, one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive resorts, and in Santiago, also known as the “Cigar Capital of the World.”

The Festival gives visitors the possibility of visiting some of the world’s top tobacco and cigar-producing factories where many of the world’s famous cigars are manufactured.

Participants will also enjoy, during the Festival celebration, the best the Dominican Republic has to offer in music, cultural events and hospitality.

The Procigar Festival also features a golf tournament at the famous Teeth of the Dog golf course in Casa de Campo.

To date, this golf course is included on the list of the world’s top 100 courses.

The program also includes day trips to the incredibly beautiful Damajagua Lagoons in Puerto Plata, on the country’s north coast.

A trip to the lagoons will take the visitors on an incredible ecotourism journey, and a true delight for hikers.

Another attraction is a full-day catamaran excursion, also in Puerto Plata, as well as seminars, poker tournaments, and merengue dance lessons.

The festival brings together writers from some of the world’s most important cigar-related magazines, such as: Cigar Aficionado, Smoke & Smokeshop, Tobacconist, Cigar Magazine, European Cigar Journal, Cigar Clan, Cigar Report, Cigar Ambassador, L’Amateur Du Cigarre, La Boutique de El Fumador, Epicur and Florida Cigar Snob.

The Dominican Republic is the world’s largest exporter of cigars and 80% of the world’s cigar production comes from the cigar fields and factories situated in and around the city of Santiago.

Delta Airlines, the official airline of the Procigar Festival, is offering 5-10% discounts to participants. For more information:
