Investment Forum to Discuss Tourism-Related Issues

The “Invest in the D.R.” forum, sponsored by the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), will discuss the local tourism industry’s potential to attract foreign investment. The forum will be held September 4-5 in Santo Domingo’s JW Marriott Hotel.

The keynote speaker on tourism will be the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia, who is scheduled to deliver a conference titled “Reaching the Country’s Goal: 10 Million Tourists.”

Following Minister Garcia’s presentation, a panel on “The Dominican Republic: A Tourism Destination” where experts will discuss the country’s dynamic tourism industry. Panelists will include Luis Rodríguez Amiama, president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES); Frank Ranieri, president of the Punta Cana Group; Luis Emilio Velutini, president of the Velutini Group, and Roberto Chapur, President of Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana.

The Forum will also features such panel discussions as “The Diversification of the Tourism Industry in the Dominican Republic,” headed by Cambiaso Alexander, President of the Association of Health Tourism; Gabriel Acevedo, President of the Ocoa Bay Tourism Complex; and José Redondo, president of the Board of Directors of the Rescue Group, dedicated to health care.
