Organizers of the III Willy Pumarol Golf Classic announced that the tournament will take place on August 30 at The Links golf course, in Casa de Campo, in the eastern city of La Romana.
Willy Pumarol is the first Dominican golfer to join the PGA Latin America Tour.
The tournament will be played in a two-person scramble format in A and B categories for male and female.
The goal of the tournament is to provide Dominican young golfers with the support they need.
Pumarol, representing both the Dominican Republic and Casa de Campo, became the only Dominican golfer to advance to the final round of the DR Open Tournament, played on May 18 at the Teeth of the Dog in Casa de Campo.
Proceeds from this tournament will cover the different phases of the PGA Latin America Tour, scheduled to kick-off in September in Ecuador and to conclude in December with the Argentina Open.
