Website on Dominican Tourism Industry Receives 20,000 Daily Visitors

The tourism website received an average of 20,000 daily visits during the first quarter of 2014. This number doubles the average recorded during the same time period in 2013.

The website is produced by the Dominican-based Center for Information and Communication (CICOM). Its goal is to disseminate information on the Dominican tourism industry in nine languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Traditional Mandarin and Simplified Mandarin. Ninety-five percent of the international visitors that visit the Dominican Republic speak one of these languages.

The website offers its readers institutional guides for visitors, mobile device support, a wide variety of articles and more access to social networks. Visitors will also have access to Expedia, the world’s largest online travel agency.
