Three Dominican Hotels Among the Best in the Caribbean

The Hotel Eden Roc, the Iberostar Grand Bavaro and the Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado hotels, all situated in the Dominican Republic, have been included on the list of the “Top 25 Caribbean Hotels.” The list was prepared by TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards 2014. Also included in the prestigious list are the following Dominican-based hotels: the Sublime Samana, Turtle Bay, Iberostar Grand Bavaro and The Reserve. The latter also appears on the list of the Caribbean’s top 10 family hotels.

The Traveller’s Choice Awards are issued annually by TripAdvisor, one of the world’s most important travel websites. The winners are chosen by the website readers.

Eden Roc at Cap Cana

This is the first hotel in the Dominican Republic to join the exclusive Relais & Châteaux group of hotels, which represents some of the finest hotels and gourmet restaurants throughout the world. The hotel – situated in Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region – features 34 suites, with their own individual pools and relaxation areas.

Iberostar Grand Bavaro

The 274-room hotel is an all-inclusive resort situated 30 minutes from Punta Cana’s international airport. It also features 260 suites, 13 oceanfront Grand Suites, a presidential suite, four a la carte restaurants, a beachfront restaurant, bars, discos, private beach area, swimming pool and nightly live entertainment.

Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado

Located in the beautiful Bay of Samana, on the country’s northeast region, this all-inclusive facility is the only five-star hotel in the Dominican Republic situated in an off-shore key. It features 201 rooms, and offers guests the privacy that can only be fully enjoyed on a private key. The facility also features four restaurants, six bars, tennis courts, aerobics classes, kayaking, catamarans, full spa and live entertainment.

The Tortuga Bay

This 50-room boutique hotel, distributed in 15 luxury villas, features a unique design that integrates the facility to the beautiful tropical surroundings. Designed by world-famous Dominican-American designer Oscar de la Renta, one of the major shareholders of the Puntacana Resort & Club, the Tortuga Bay was the first hotel in the Dominican Republic to join the “Leading Hotels of the World” global network. The Tortuga Bay has won more international awards than any other hotel in the Dominican Republic.

Sublime Samana

Situated in the beachfront community of Las Terrenas, in the northeast province of Samana, this luxury boutique hotel provides guests with 20 suites and private villas surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. The Sublime Samana is one of 17 Caribbean hotels members of the prestigious “Small Luxury Hotels of the World.”

The Reserve

Run by the Spanish-based Meliá chain of hotels, this 190-room facility is situated in Punta Cana. The Meliá complex in Punta Cana also operates a convention center and three hotels. The facility also features a outdoor swimming pool with water slides, a spa, Jacuzzi and three restaurants. The Reserve guests have access to the restaurant Passion, created and managed by world-famous chef Martin Berasategui. It is considered the top restaurant of its kind in the Caribbean. The facility also features several bars, including a poolside bar.
