The Tortuga Bay, situated in the popular Punta Cana tourism region, and the MGallery Hostal Nicolas de Ovando, located in the capital city’s Colonial Zone have been included on the list of the top hotels in the Caribbean.
“The Cool List: Top Caribbean Hotels 2014,” prepared by the online Caribbean Journal newspaper, features the region’s top 25 most exclusive hotels.
The Caribbean Journal notes that the MGallery Hostal Nicolas de Ovando was built on what once was a 16th century colonial mansion. “The hotel makes you feel as if you were living history.” The hotel is situated in the very heart of Santo Domingo’s historic Colonial Zone.
The 104-room facility is situated in what UNESCO has declared as a World Heritage Site, for its rich Colonial history.
The Tortuga Bay
The daily indicates that the Turtle Bay “is a charming oasis,” located in the heart of the Punta Cana’s tourism region. And, points out that all suites were decorated by world-famous Dominican-American designer Oscar de la Renta.
The five-diamond facility, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA), features 15 luxury villas (with a total of 50 rooms) that have been designed to integrate the surrounding landscape. This is the first hotel in the Dominican Republic to become a member of the prestigious “Leading Hotels of the World” listing.
