The U.S.-based airlines JetBlue and American Airlines announced that they are increasing their weekly flights on the La Romana-New York and La Romana-Miami routes during the upcoming winter season. The airliners increased the number of flights in order to meet the growing demand during this period. In addition, Air Europa will add two additional flights from Madrid and the Polish airliner LOT will fly in every 10 days. There will also be additional flights to Puerto Rico.
JetBlue will add a Monday flight to its La Romana-New York route, beginning December 23. The airline currently operates Wednesday and Saturday flights on this route. JetBlue will depart JFK International Airport at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in La Romana at 3:20 p.m. The return flight will leave La Romana at 5:31 p.m. and arrive in New York City at 8:30 p.m.
American Airlines also added additional flights on its La Romana-Miami, starting November 21. It will also fly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Miami flights depart at 12:55 p.m. and arrive in La Romana at 3:20 p.m. The return flight leaves La Romana at 4:40 p.m., arriving in Miami at 6:15 p.m. These flights will be available through April 2014.
Air Europa recently announced two new weekly flights between La Romana’s International Airport and Madrid.
The flights are scheduled for Mondays and Saturdays, departing from the Spanish capital at 4:00 p.m., and returning at 10:00 p.m. from La Romana.
The airline will use an Airbus 333-300 aircraft, with 388 seats in economy class.
With this new addition the company will increase to 12 its weekly flights to Dominican international airports.
Currently Air Europa operates a daily flight between Madrid and Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, three times a week to Punta Cana’s International Airport and now these two additional flights into La Romana.
Seaborne Airlines, from St. Croix, will fly nonstop from San Juan, Puerto Rico to La Romana on Thursdays and Sundays, starting in December.
The airline announced that on March 15, 2014 this flight will be available seven days a week.
LOT Polish Airlines operates a flight between Warsaw and La Romana every ten days. The airliner uses a modern Boeing 787. There were 247 Polish tourists on board on the airliner’s first flight to La Romana.
