The cruise ship recently made its first port-of-call, of the 11 it is scheduled to make in the upcoming months to Santo Domingo’s Sans Souci Port. The ship will bring an average of some two thousand German tourists to the country’s capital city.
During the 2013-2014 the cruise ship route will also include Jamaica, Belize, Tortola, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
The 252 meter long ship can accommodate up to 2,210 passengers, and features 12 bars, seven restaurants, cabins, spa, casino, movie theater, library and sports area.
During their visit to Santo Domingo cruise passengers can tour the city’s Colonial Zone, the Botanical Garden, take a safari, play golf at the Guavaberry Golf Course, spend the day on the beach in nearby beaches or participate in a “Rum Tour” through the Barcelo Rum factories in the town of San Pedro de Macoris.
