The exclusive Casa de Campo resort and the Tortuga Bay Hotel made the list of the top 25 luxury resorts in the entire Caribbean region.
The list was prepared by the online daily Caribbean Journal, an important source of information on tourism news in the region.
According to the online daily the plush Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, in the country’s eastern region, is one of the finest examples of fine hospitality in the entire Caribbean.
And, says the daily, the Tortuga Bay – in the exceptionally beautiful Punta Cana region – emphasizes that “all rooms are found in luxury homes,” and that “this is the place where you begin to forget where your true home is.”
The U.S.-based American Automobile Association (AAA) has given the Tortuga Bay Hotel a five-diamond rating.
This boutique hotel features 15 luxury villas (50 rooms) where precious wood and cane are the prime materials used. The rooms were decorated by world-famous Dominican-American designer Oscar de la Renta.
Their overall design blends in perfectly with the surrounding lush landscape.
The Tortuga Bay was the first hotel in the Dominican Republic to be included in the exclusive list of “Leading Hotels of the World.”
Casa de Campo
This luxury resort received a four-diamond rating by AAA. Situated in the eastern city of La Romana, it is also an important member of the “Leading Hotels of the World” listing. It is recognized worldwide for its world-class golf courses, designed by the legendary designer Pete Dye.
Casa de Campo is also a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
