The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES) announced that the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment 2013 Conference (CHICOS 2013) will be held in Punta Cana, in the country’s eastern region, November 7-8 of this year.
Organizers said that more than one thousand investors, developers, government officials and representatives of international hotel chains and other tourism-related businesses, are scheduled to participate in the event, which is organized by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), and HVS, the largest international hotel consulting firm. The Conference will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. This meeting is sponsored by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). ASONAHORES is a subsidiary of the CHTA.
CHICOS 2013 is the most important activity held jointly by the private and public sectors. The goal is to encourage investment in the Caribbean tourism sector.
This conference will mark a milestone in the country’s tourism industry, since it will be the first of its kind to be held in the Dominican Republic.
Paris Jordan, Caribbean managing director for HVS and CEO of CHICOS, said that in the future this event will be held annually. This event was formally organized by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC), the name formally given to this conference.
Simon Suarez, the head of the Local Advisory Committee, is former president of the CHTA and a member of the Board of Directors of ASONAHORES.
Hard Rock Hotel
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is the first all-inclusive hotel of the Hard Rock brand.
