Real Hotel & Resort, belonging to the Grupo Roble of El Salvador, announced that it will build a 200-room Intercontinental Hotel on Winston Churchill Avenue, one of Santo Domingo’s most important thoroughfares.
The hotel will be built at a cost of US$200 million.
Fernando Poma, executive vice president of Real Hotels & Resorts, said the facility will feature five restaurants, a 1,300 square meter spa, a bar and a swimming pool. The 15-floor hotel will occupy 3,866 square meters.
Real Hotel & Resort manages 19 hotels throughout Latin America, including the InterContinental hotels, in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), a network that operates 169 hotels in 60 countries. The Grupo Roble also has agreements with Marriott International and Choice Hotel International.
