Operating in Punta Cana since 1999, the “Vik Hotel Arena Blanca” Hotel has become a preferred destination for Germans vacationing in the Dominican Republic’s eastern region. Since it opened, 22% of all visitors that stay at the “Vik Hotel Arena Blanca” hotel are Germans.
The 447-room hotel, built right on an incredibly beautiful “El Cortesito” white-sand beach, is a four-star, all-inclusive facility.
Although in its very beginnings the hotel was operated by a German company, currently the facility is owned by “Vik hotels Group” a Spanish chain of hotels.
“Vik Hotel Arena Blanca” features spacious rooms, many with ocean front views. But, most definitely, its most important attraction is the “El Cortesito” beach and its very relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel features a 1,900 square-meter swimming pool for adults, and a children’s pool. Guests will also enjoy the hotel’s intense entertainment program, which guarantees fun and sun for the young and old. Also available are golf facilities, a diving school and a spa.
This all-inclusive hotel provides guests with various eating options. There’s the Buccaneer Restaurant, featuring an Argentine-style BBQ buffet lunch and, in the evenings, a la carte Mexican dishes.
“El Mirador” Restaurant offers guests continental and American breakfasts, and international lunches and dinner buffets.
The Calypso Bar offers visitors tea, coffee, cocktails, international drinks, soups and sandwiches.
La Trattoria (for non-smokers only) features a tasty Italian menu. The Starfish Restaurant, also for non-smokers, provides a la carte dinner options.
The restaurants that are not included in the all-inclusive package: “La Proa” (Caribbean and seafood dishes); “El Cano,” (excellent grilled seafood); and Friday evenings also seafood BBQs, featuring grilled lobster, shrimp, seafood and imported meats. For a romantic evening on the beach, guests may reserve an exclusive gazebo for two where fine dining is guaranteed.
All hotel bars (Lobby Bar, Calypso Bar and “Bucanero” Bar) serve tea, coffee, soft drinks, cocktails and local drinks. “La Disco Bar” opens from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Weddings and Special Events.
The “Vik Hotel Arena Blanca” Hotel provides guests with civil ceremony wedding services, as well as the organization of special birthdays or other special events.
Germany is the Dominican Republic’s fourth largest tourism market, and the second in Europe after France. Last year, approximately 183,000 Germans visited the country.
Sixty-nine percent arrived through Punta Cana’s international airport, 18% through the north coast city of Puerto Plata, and 13% through Santo Domingo.
