Carlos Jiménez Ruiz, director of the IFA chain of hotels for the Caribbean, and Director General of IFA’s Villas Bávaro Resort & Spa, was selected as “Hotelier of the Year 2012” by the Association of Hotels and Tourism Projects of the Dominican Republic’s eastern region.
Jiménez Ruiz is the only hotelier to twice receive this distinction. He was also recognized by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES) in 2009 for the work carried out that year.
At the time he was said to be an example to be followed in the Dominican tourism industry.
During his long and distinguished career Jimenez Ruiz was, among others, director of the CITYPARKHOTELES, in Spain, and executive chef for the Killeiny Hotels, in Ireland.
In the Dominican Republic he has been the director of the Barceló Bávaro Golf & Suites and the Hotel Barceló Bávaro Caribe.
The IFA Villas Bávaro Resort & Spa features 652 rooms, seven restaurants, five bars, a theater, three swimming pools, jacuzzis, a children’s club and a health area which includes a spa, a medi-spa, and a gymnasium.
