Access awarded National Journalism Prize for Tourism reporting, which provides updated information on tourism-related activities in the Dominican Republic, recently received two National Journalism awards for excellent reporting on the local tourism sector.

The awards ceremony was organized by the Dominican Association of Tourism Press and Occidental Hotels, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism.

Adolfo Lopez, a writer and environmental consultant, won in the “Sustainable Journalism” and “Electronica Media” categories for his reporting in the “Eco-Travel” section of the media outlet.

Fifty-seven journalists participated in this, the ninth annual National Journalism awards. Some 350 feature articles were presented to the panel of judges. The award is recognized as the premier award for Dominican journalists.

This tourism-oriented website is the only one to offer daily updated stories on tourism in the Dominican Republic.  The information is provided in seven languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Portuguese and German).

Also circulating is the weekly online ACCESS Dominican Republic magazine, in PDF format, in the abovementioned languages.

The online publication is distributed to more than 100,000 travel professionals and journalists in 20 countries.
