Fourth consecutive year “Casa de Campo” is named best golf resort in the Caribbean

For the fourth consecutive year “Casa de Campo” was selected as the “Best Golf Resort in the Caribbean,” in the Caribbean edition of the World Travel Awards 2012.

The unique resort features four golf courses, including the “Teeth of the Dog” course which, for decades, has occupied the 20th spot among the world’s 100 best golf courses.

The awards also chose the all-inclusive 610-room Riu Palace Bavaro and the 468-room Cofresi Palm Beach & Spa Resort in the category “Best New Hotel in the Caribbean.”

The 500-room all-inclusive Barceló Capella Hotel , situated in the tourism community of Juan Dolio – 45 minutes east of the capital city of Santo Domingo – was selected as the Best Spa Resort in the Dominican Republic.

The awards ceremony was held on September 14 at the Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, in Turks and Caicos.

This exclusive resort, situated two hours east of Santo Domingo, features four golf courses, three of these courses are known internationally for their beauty and challenging characteristics.
Situated in the city of La Romana, on the country’s eastern region, is also home to a world-class cruise port, a marina with capacity for 350 boats up to 250 feet in length, as well as a varied menu of sports facilities and services.

Its world-famous “Teeth of the Dog” golf course has for decades occupied the 20th slot in the list of the “100 best Golf Courses in the World.”

International movie stars and pop singers continuously visit “Casa de Campo,” as well as key political figures. The resort is located 10 minutes from La Romana’s international airport, and 30 minutes from Punta Cana’s international airport.
