The “Viva” regatta race will be held in october

The Viva Wyndham chain of hotels will celebrate its third annual regatta sailing race from October 5-7 in the Viva Wyndham Dominicus in Bayahibe, in the Dominican Republic’s eastern region.

Some 50 sailing boats are scheduled to participate in the event.

The various racing categories include the Laser Standard, Windsurf, Sunfish and Optimist. The first three spots in each category will receive awards.

Various activities will be held during the event, such as a farewell reception, raffles, and many other surprises, as well as special recognition awards issued to participating vessels.

The “Viva” Sailing Regatta 2012 is being cosponsored by the Dominican Sailing Federation, Viva Wyndham Resorts – as the official sponsor – and WT Events, as the coordination company.

In last year’s event, 36 representatives from Puerto Rico, Canada, France, Italy and the Dominican Republic participated in the event.

The Viva Wyndham Resorts chain of hotels has, for the past 20 years, worked on the development, management and marketing of hotel products in the Caribbean. It currently operates facilities in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Bahamas.

This all-inclusive hotel chain also operates the Viva Vacation Club and Viva Residence, a tourism real estate company with two developments currently underway in the northeast coast region of the Dominican Republic.
