The Dominican Republic received the “Most Popular Stand” award during the Ninth International Tourism Fair, also known as Expo Beijing 2012.
Participants in Expo Beijing 2012 included airlines, tour operators, tourism-related companies and media outlets, as well as other sectors linked to the tourism industry.
This particular fair has become an important platform in Asia for the international tourism industry.
This is the first time the Dominican Republic, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, participates in the popular fair and the only Caribbean country at the event.
The Dominican delegation was headed by Giselle Diaz and Evelyn Paiewonsky, directors of International Public Relations and Marketing E-Tourism Ministry, respectively, from the Ministry of Tourism, as well as representatives from the DR Office for Trade and Development in Beijing, from the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, as well as from Blue Travel Partner and Turmaya.
