Favorite dominican hotels according to canadian tourists

The “Iberostar Costa Dorada,” located in the north coast town of Puerto Plata, and the “Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado,” on the northeast province of Samaná, lead the list of the five best Caribbean hotels, according to the Canadian travel site “Monarca.ca”.

Website users voted their choice of best hotels, taking into account the facility’s general impression, quality vs. price, the quality of food, restaurants and beaches, as well as accommodations for families and couples.

The “Iberostar Costa Dorada” also came in second – out of a list of 48 hotels – in the best hotels category according to TripAdvisor, the popular international tourism website.

The “Iberostar” is a five-star all-inclusive hotel located five minutes from the north coast city of Puerto Plata and 30 minutes from the region’s international airport. The facility’s 498 rooms – including 18 junior suites – are spread over nine three-story buildings.

The “Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado” is the only hotel in the Dominican Republic built on a key situated in the middle of the Bay of Samaná. This 195-room hotel features two main pools, outdoor Jacuzzis, and a hydro-massage pool.  Also available is a bar, a cigar bar, tennis and paddle courts, a gym and a spa.

The country’s top 20

This popular travel website also prepared a list titled “Top 20 Hotels of the Dominican Republic.”  Heading the list: the “Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado.”
