The U.S.-based Salamander chain hotels announced that it will open its first facility in the Dominican Republic this coming October. The new facility launches the chain’s presence in the Caribbean. It will be the first of three Salamander-run hotels in the Caribbean.
The Fishing Lodge Cap Cana, a Salamander Marina & Beach Resort will feature 299 luxury villas and apartments. The hotel is situated next to the Cap Cana Marina, the largest in the country and the Caribbean. It is also situated close to one of the most attractive sports fishing facilities in the region, which annually hosts several national and international fishing tournaments.
The Fishing Lodge will offer access to the Marina as well as other attractions in the Cap Cana tourism residential complex, including yacht rental facilities for fishing and pleasure outings in the area. Guests will also have access to the Punta Espada golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and considered by Golfweek Magazine as the best in the Caribbean and Mexico. This golf course has hosted PGA tournaments.
The resort includes two theme restaurants and two specializing in light cuisine. Also featured are three bars, four swimming pools, a stone chapel for weddings, a modern spa and trendy shops. Facilities feature one, two and three bedroom rooms.
The hotel will also provide professional facilities for the celebration of special events and meetings, offering seven special rooms for special events (rooms are equipped to handle from 40 to 200 visitors). Also featured are two outdoor plazas, with capacity from 500 to 750 guests. The business center offers full service for the demanding executive
