The US-based Warwick International Hotels, specializing in luxury accommodations, opened the Balaji Palace Playa Grande, in the north coast of the Dominican Republic. It is the company’s first incursion into the Caribbean tourism market.
Situated outside the north coast city of Puerto Plata, and some 30 minutes from the region’s international airport, the new facility offers 13 suites.
Warwick International describes the Balaji Palace Playa Grande as a “tourism complex that offers its very own pristine beach on the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by mountains and tropical forests.” Another big feature is the nearby Playa Grande golf course, said to be one of the most beautiful of the country’s 23 golf courses. Also featured are a spa, a gourmet restaurant, and VIP facilities for meetings and weddings.
Warwick International Hotels has a 31-year track record operating and managing 50 luxury hotels in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific and Bali.
This year the company took over operations for the Hotel Europe, in Belorussia; the Winter Valley/Warwick Resort & Spa, in the Dead Sea; and now the Balaji Palace Playa Grande, in the Dominican Republic (www.warwickhotels.com).
