The Spanish airline Orbest, a member of the Orizonia Group, will offer during the summer months 12 weekly flights to Punta Cana from Spain. Seven flights will leave from Madrid, one from Barcelona and four from Lisbon and Oporto, in Portugal.
The flights are a direct result of an agreement signed between the Dominican Ministry of Tourism and the Spanish group. Orbest, the carrier, was formerly known as Iberword. The airliner flies AIRBIS A330-300. Since its founding, in 1998, the carrier has transported 11 million passengers and carried out 75,000 flights.
The Dominican Ministry of Tourism signed agreements with various tour operators, such as “Viajes Barceló,” Travelplan and Soltur. All are working together to promote the Dominican Republic in Spain and Portugal. The announcement was made by Paola Dimitri, Director of the Dominican Tourism Office in Spain.
