Playa Bavaro, in Punta Cana, was chosen as one of the best beaches in the world by readers of the popular website Tripadvisor, which boasts some 34 million visitors. Situated on the easternmost coastal area of the Dominican Republic, the beach is currently ranked eighth amongst the top 25 beaches, as chosen by the Travelers’ Choice 2011 award.
Millions of visitors to the popular website, who frequently express their opinion on various tourism and travel related issues, said that “Punta Cana is the perfect postcard of the Caribbean: boasting more than 37 miles of white sand, swaying coconut trees and more than 35 resorts (which by law cannot be taller than a palm tree).”
The website indicates that European tourists discovered the Punta Cana area many years ago and that now is when “Americans are catching up.”
“In this perfect and affordable tropical retreat, most guests choose to stay in all-inclusive resorts,” explains the website.
The Travelers’ Choice award is “the only award issued by the millions of fellow travelers who express their opinion through” the Tripadvisor website. (www.tripadvisor.es/TCBeaches)
