Dominican archaeologist continues help search for tomb of Cleopatra

Dominican archaeologist Kathleen Martinez recently announced that her team continues to work in Egypt in the hopes of finding the burial site of Cleopatra the VIIth, the last queen of Egypt.

We still believe we are close to finding a royal tomb, and if my theory is correct, we hope to find the tomb of Cleopatra“, said the archaeologist.

She explained that the excavation team found 120 coins that seem to resemble the face and clothes of the historic character.

For the past five years Martínez has been carrying out research and excavations in and around an old temple situated near the Mediterranean Sea.
